e-District | Government of Kerala

e-District as a concept proposes integrated, seamless, and online delivery of citizen services at the district level through automation of workflow, backend digitization, integration and process redesign. This project proposes to deliver around 50 services on-line at the district level and its subordinate offices. The services have been shortlisted keeping the citizens needs as primary service objective. The major service categories include G2C services like issue of Certificates, Filing of RTI & Public Grievance, Request for new ration card etc. This project will also provide G2E/G services like revenue cases, Government dues and recovery etc.
 

e-District Project Inauguration

edistrict project inauguration Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan, launched the first e-district project in the State on 17.12.2010 Friday at the Thalassery Civil Station in Kannur district. Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan,Home and Tourism Affairs Minister of Kerala presided over the inaugural function at Thalassery. The e-District Web site was launched by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr Mullappally Ramachandran. The Revenue Minister of Kerala, Mr K. P. Rajendran distributed the revenue certificates. Smt.PK Sreemathy Teacher,Hon'ble Minister for Health and Social Welfare launched the rural labour portal. The e-District handbook kit was released by Devaswom Minister, Mr Ramachandran Kadannappally. Many dignitaries from District administration and Kerala IT sector were also present at the function.

e-District online applications crossed 5 Lakh . The online applications received through the two e-districts crossed  5 Lakh  in Kerala, out of which Kannur district received 2,62,104 application online, and Palakkad received 2,38,652 applications.The delivery of public services has been thus made easy and accessing them much more simplified with VLE- Akshaya centers acting as citizen delivery outlets for the common man.Sustained efforts have been made by government to improve service delivery at multiple levels in this new era of e-governance.
